Congrats, You Broke Reality

You just couldn't let it be, couldn't you? You just had to poke around were no human was meant to poke around, didn't you?

So here we have some kind of mad scientist in the beginning of the 20th century... although I don't think he's actually mad, just very excentric, very intelligent and very, very curious. And that combination can be very dangerous, so maybe it hade been better for the world if he'd just been mad as a hatter and invented stuff like cars powered by orange juice or small, inverted diving suits so fish could live on land.

Instead, he began to study the existance of parallel universes, and, after a while, build some kind of machine that would open some kind of window to another universe. He never meant any harm, really, he just wanted to see what kind of strange creatures that would live there.

But unfortunately, the machine backfired. Instead of a window he's made a portal, and so has the other millions and millions of scientists that inhabit the parallel universes beyond his own. It's the same principle as when you start to tug at a loose thread in your sweater - the tear will grow and grow until you sit there with nothing but a big heap of yarn. Or, in this case, millions and millions of universes, imploding and collapsing into each other. Way to go, science.

But no fret - there are uncountable universes that will not be affected by this at all. In these universes, maybe the machine didn't work, or he decided that he wanted to be an accountant instead of a scientist when he grew up, or maybe the dinosaurs still roam the earth. Life goes on, yanno.

Oh, and can you guess which excentric, intelligent and curious non-fiction scientist inspired me to do this?
